Why the arctic? Making Sense, investigated subjective human experience in relationship to environment and documented history through the effects and affects of nuclear energy production, magnetics, light wavelength frequency studies, human vision and body experiences interacting and communication through technology, history of production, use and export of salt, water, heavy water, and modes of documenting human experience (letters, morse code, transmission towers).

The Arctic serves as a location for exploring mental and physical human boundaries. I am interested in exploring the idea of the arctic as a planetary oracle -as an international territory, with unique geographic and meteorological conditions, agricultural research lab, and space to continue developing ancient ways of knowing in which humans bodies perceive and experience time, movement, and prescience.

During the residency, I will keep logs, written, video, and photography. I will be completing a Haiku translation project, and creating new artwork and performances. As a Supporter, you receive immediate access to private journal and continued access to travelogues only available to supporters. Additional support receive limited edition prints and one of a kind artworks.

As I continue working as a photo and art reviewer, freelancer, and await decisions from numerous grant applications- individual support will make this endeavour possible. There are five ways you can support my work described below. Residency in the arctic is an opportunity to deepen my work and research, to create value for future generations through education.

Thank you for creating with me.

Sincerely, Rachel
